July Reading: Everything She Touched

Among the many books I am reading at the moment is this one, Everything She Touched: The Life of Ruth Asawa by Marilyn Chase. It’s an incredible biography of an American artist and sculptor who began her career in the 1950s. Despite hardship in her early life, discrimination and then going on to have six children, Ruth Asawa kept her creative spirit alive all throughout her life. I love the photo of her (above) at home and at work surrounded by her children. A beautiful moment captured by photographer Imogen Cunningham (and inspiring to see that this might be possible!).
