€25.00

Learn how to make a Brigid’s cross for your home in the celebration of Saint Brigid's Day (Imbolc) and the arrival of spring.

Sun 28th January | 11am - 1.15pm | Cork city

Join designer and maker Steph Sheahan for a relaxed and creative morning in Cork city where we will celebrate and honour Goddess and Saint Brigid through the process of making Brigid’s crosses.

Steph lives in the Sliabh Luachra (‘the rushy mountain’ in Irish) region of county Limerick. She will be gathering rushes (the traditional material used in cross making) from the field at the back of her cottage and bringing them to Cork city for weaving. She will guide you through the process of weaving a simple cross for your home - which was traditionally displayed over the door of a house for protection. This is a lovely opportunity to learn a traditional craft technique while gaining a deeper appreciation of the seasons and our celtic festival traditions.

Enjoy a social morning of making crosses, tea, homemade cake and conversation. There will also be the option of calling in the support and guidance of Brigid through pulling one of Moon Mná’s beautiful Brigid oracle cards. Come away with a woven Brigid cross for your home to celebrate the arrival of spring.

This workshop will take place at 4 Tuckey Street, Cork - a warm, creative and soulful space in the heart of Cork City. We will look forward to welcoming you.

Some notes:

Please do get in touch if you would like to attend but require a reduced rate.

Bookings are non-refundable. If you can no longer attend on the day, you are welcome to give your booking to someone else.
