PUNK SHEELA NA GIG

While learning about Celtic mythology and doing a mentorship programme with Jen Murphy from the Celtic Creatives, I began tuning into the archetypal energy of Sheela na Gig. Through reading and guided visualisations, Sheela came to me as a punk. Reminding me of the power of DIY energy, the vulva being a portal to my power and my voice being powerful too: “it will be your voice”, she said. Working in clay I captured the energy of how I feel Sheela na Gig. A punk energy that I feel is much needed these days - sa lá atá inniu ann.
