The Lively Soil

Our view from the kitchen is a lot more fun now! Another garden mural. This one was inspired by the shapes, forms and life in the soil - since the wall is actually situated below ground level.

I enjoyed sitting out in the warm tunnel one day and drawing what I saw from a scooped up soil sample. The colour palette felt right being warm in tone with orange, pink and red. And I liked breaking down the shapes and life I found in the soil into graphic forms. I don’t think I am finished with this project yet as I feel there is a lot more discoveries and inspiration to be found in the lively soil under our feet.
