Creative Direction & Design
From clarity into form.
Sometimes the thinking is the work. Sometimes an idea wants to be developed further and given a form of its own. This is where I bring my experience as a designer and creative practitioner into the process, working with you to explore the creative direction and how the idea might want to take shape. This could be a visual identity, a website, a book or publication, or another piece of visual communication. The form depends on the idea and what you want it to do in the world. I don't work from a set package or formula. We start with the thinking, the purpose and intention behind the work, and develop a creative direction from there where the design follows meaning, form follows function.
I work with people whose ideas have a cultural, social, environmental or wellbeing dimension - people who are trying to contribute something meaningful through what they do.
My design work includes:
Books & publications
Bringing ideas, research, stories and projects together into something tangible and shareable.
Art direction & visual communication
Finding the imagery, language and visual approach that can bring an idea to life.
Visual identities
Developing the visual language and character of a business, practice or project.
Websites
Creating thoughtful digital spaces that communicate the work clearly and express its personality.
I bring the same curiosity, thoughtfulness and cross-pollinating approach to the design work as I do to the conversations that come before it.
